Workplace benefit enrollment redesign to increase auto-verification

Redesigned the Student Debt Retirement enrollment flow after a key verification partner was lost to legislation. Introduced interactive guidance, radio-tile loan servicer selection, and real-time PDF data extraction — lifting automated verification rates by 60% and enrollment success by 30% while removing the 5-day manual review for most participants.

A task usage predictor for AI agents, so critical work still gets done under usage limits

AI tools hide their usage limits behind settings, so people find out they're out only after work stops. I designed a predictive tool that estimates what a task will cost before it runs, shows how it affects every connected tool's limit, and helps people make tradeoffs, like batching, deferring or saving a checkpoint, so the critical task still finishes.

Benefit dashboard redesign: from a static page to a guided benefit

Fidelity's Student Debt Retirement dashboard hadn't changed since 2019. Participants enrolled, then couldn't tell what the benefit was worth or what to do next. I reframed it around the questions they kept asking, tested it across three research studies, and split the vision into phases. Level 1 goes live January 2027.

Hi! I'm Emily.

Thanks for checking out my work. Like a lot of people in UX, I didn't start here. I took a few creative detours along the way, and I'm glad I did.

These days I'm at Fidelity Investments, working on tools for people dealing with student debt. I like getting into complex problems and finding ways to make them feel a little clearer and easier to navigate.

Outside of work, I try to balance out the screen time. My dog, Banjo, gets me outside and moving. Yoga helps me slow down. And when I need a break from thinking, I'll pick up clay or paint, just making things for the sake of it.

It's all part of what keeps me grounded, curious, and ready to take on the next challenge.

    I got my start in design from small internships and gigs on the side while in college. From there, my interest in the bigger picture grew and I found myself landing in UX! I love partnering with teams big and small to make real business and user impact.
